We have implemented a new newsletter platform. As a result, you may suddenly start receiving newsletters from us again, or you may not yet receive them while the transition to the new system is being completed.
Database Migration
Our previous website software included a built-in newsletter tool that allowed us to create and send newsletters easily. Over time, this database grew to include email addresses of former clients, prospective clients, intermediaries, partner firms, colleagues, and personal contacts.
When the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into effect, it became clear that newsletters could no longer be sent indiscriminately. Recipients needed to have given consent and must be able to unsubscribe easily.
To comply with these requirements, we previously sent several newsletters asking recipients whether they wished to continue receiving communications from us. Those who unsubscribed were removed from the database, while email addresses that were no longer valid were also excluded.
During the migration to our new platform, these previously removed or inactive addresses were not transferred. In addition, we reviewed our records and only retained contacts with whom we have had interaction within the past five years.
New Additions
We have supplemented the database with email addresses of existing clients and prospective contacts with whom we have had contact during the past five years.
Under GDPR regulations, direct marketing activities, such as newsletters, are permitted for existing business relationships and warm contacts.
Receiving Our Newsletter
Your email address may therefore be included in our system either because it was transferred from our previous platform or because we consider you an existing contact or business relation.
Of course, this does not automatically mean that you wish to receive our newsletters.
For that reason, and in full compliance with GDPR, every newsletter contains an unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email. By clicking this link, you can remove your email address from our mailing list at any time. Once unsubscribed, you will no longer receive newsletters unless you choose to subscribe again in the future.
If you have not received a newsletter but would like to, you can easily subscribe through our website. A newsletter sign-up button can be found in the footer of the website, which will take you directly to the registration page.
How Often Will We Send Newsletters?
You do not need to worry about receiving large numbers of emails from us.
We expect to send only three to four newsletters per year, containing relevant updates, news, and important developments.
