From 1 May 2026, the Dutch Tax Administration (Belastingdienst) has switched its banking services from ING to Rabobank. As a result, new bank account numbers are now being used.
What does this mean for you?
If you need to pay taxes, you will receive a message from the Tax Administration containing the new Rabobank account number. Likewise, if you are entitled to a refund, it will increasingly be paid from one of the new bank accounts.
You will automatically be informed when to use a new account number
Whenever you need to make a tax payment, the Tax Administration will notify you either by letter or through digital correspondence, such as your online message box. Payment details will always be included, showing the account number to which the payment should be made. If the account number provided is one of the new Rabobank account numbers, please use that number for your payment.
The most commonly used new Rabobank account number is:

Please note that some taxes may use a different Rabobank account number.
The new account numbers do not change how you pay taxes
Once an account number has changed, you can continue paying your taxes in the same way as before, for example through online banking.
If you make recurring payments to the Tax Administration, you may need to update the account number yourself.
If you pay by direct debit, no action is required. Payments will automatically be transferred to the new account number.
If you have arranged recurring payments through your bank, such as a standing order, you will need to update the account number yourself.
Accidentally paid to the old account number?
No problem.
If you mistakenly transfer money to the old ING account instead of the new Rabobank account, the payment will still be received and processed correctly. The Tax Administration has made arrangements with ING to ensure this.
However, processing may take longer, and this forwarding arrangement will not remain in place indefinitely. To avoid delays, please make sure future payments are sent to the correct account number.
To prevent mistakes, update your address book, accounting software, or payment templates as soon as you receive a notification containing the new Rabobank account number.
Beware of phishing
The Tax Administration will never send payment requests via email, SMS, WhatsApp, or telephone.
If you are unsure whether a message or phone call is genuinely from the Tax Administration, consult the guidance available on the official Tax Administration website. Always verify that the bank account number mentioned matches one of the official account numbers published by the Tax Administration.
